The Yachts, Ploes and CAPELLA.

The club owns two sea-going yachts - a Dufour 365 Grand Large currently based in Levington and a Bavaria 40 currently based in Turkey.

Members can use these boats and make a contribution to Club funds.

'Ploes'

Ploes is a Bavaria 40 and is based in Fethiye Turkey. She has 3 double cabins and a large saloon which makes for comfortable cruising. She has in-mast reefing, a furling headsail and a bow-thruster which makes handling easy. The cruising area is interesting with plenty of ports and anchorages within easy reach. Members are required to book via our website booking form on the “Go Sailing Page” or by emailing us on our club email address.  Members are expected to leave the diesel tank full and replace any gas cylinders emptied during the stay. Ploes can also be used as a house boat . Full details and instructions are sent to members once a booking is confirmed.

'Capella'

Capella is a Dufour 365 Grand Large and has recently been purchased by the Club. Sgh eis very comfortable and has un-paralleled performance. Her slab reefing is easy to use and she makes fast comfortable passages.  In recent years she has been based in Levington at Suffolk Yacht Harbour on the River Orwell, this offers a huge range of sailing options to match all weather conditions. Capella is available to members  for whole weeks or for day sailing (only bookable 2 weeks in advance), Bookings are via our website booking form on the “Go Sailing Page” or by emailing us on our club email address.

RATES

Members can use the boats at reasonable rates.  Only accredited skippers may take charge of the boats.

CONTRIBUTION FOR USE OF CLUB YACHT 'Ploes' (Bavaria 40 in Turkey) IN 2024:

Weekly for sailing at £1800, additional days are £260 per day. For August and November the rate is discounted to 70%, that is £1260 per week. More information about pricing is shown on the “Go Sailing page”, especially about daily rates. We also offer Weekly bookings as a stationary houseboat are £250 (but this booking will only be confirmed four weeks in advance). 

A damage deposit of £500 may be required for  the use of 'Ploes'.

CONTRIBUTION FOR USE OF CLUB YACHT ' Capella ’, at LEVINGTON) For days booked IN 2024:

Weekdays £130 per day,     Weekends £145 per day,       Weekly £860,      Evening sail £50

Taster sessions £50 per day per person. More information about pricing is shown on the “Go Sailing page”.

A one-day sail is only bookable 2 weeks in advance.

A damage deposit of £500 may be required for  the use of 'Capella'.
